Airport Shuttle Van Driver

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Candidates must have a flexible schedule to work any days of the week and weekend (Mon-Fri and Sat-Sun), and any given shifts as needed.
Ability to drive a shuttle van following a set schedule and route.
Must gain familiarity with their route by studying maps if necessary.
Must maintain contact with the on-duty dispatcher via tablet/radio and keep track of passenger pickups and drop-offs as necessary.
Load and unload luggage.
Passengers may have questions, drivers must respond in a polite and friendly manner.
The safety of passengers is the prime responsibility of shuttle drivers. At the beginning and end of their shift, they are to inspect their vehicle to ensure that it is functioning as designed. They must follow all traffic laws and posted speed limits. If they encounter any unsafe conditions, road hazards or accidents, they report the problems to dispatch. If their vehicle develops mechanical difficulties, they document the problems and communicate needed repairs to dispatch. They must ensure that passengers and luggage are safely loaded and unloaded from their vehicles.

Requirements for this position:

Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and random tests throughout the time of employment. DOT does not allow the use of Marijuana.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean DMV 3-year record printout
MUST have reliable transportation to work
OVERTIME may be required without notice
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident or possess a valid work permit.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintain a vehicle and cart movement log, perform necessary inspections at the beginning and end of each shift.
Transport and drive carts from high return areas to high car rental areas to ensure that carts are always available to customers.
Perform routine and minor maintenance and cleaning of carts and Cart Management Units (CMUs).
Learn and practice safety procedures: covering self, co-workers, passengers, and visitors, Smarte Carte and airport property.
Provide courteous service in assisting customers.
Provide floor coverage (collecting loose carts and/or replenishing CMUs) by walking or driving and electric tug vehicle when required.
Additional duties as assigned.
